Getting started

How do I add photos and files?

Tap any empty slot in the grid. The toggle under the grid switches between the camera, your photo library, and Files. The camera keeps going shot after shot — no confirmation between shots, everything collects in a tray, with 4:3, 3:2 or Square framing. The library and Files pickers both let you select many items at once; files — a PDF, a document, up to 100 MB — take a slot like photos do and travel with them: as attachments, alongside the PDF, or in a link. A brand-new set greets you with one big slot and a quick-pick button for whatever the current source offers (you can turn that welcome off in Settings). With Pro, the grid grows as you fill it — up to 100 items per set.

How do I scan a document into a PDF?

Switch the source toggle to Files and tap an empty slot, then choose Scan a Document (PDF). Apple's document camera captures as many pages as you like — entirely on your device — and PhotoSendr places them in the slot as a single PDF. Tap that slot to swipe through the pages, and rotate, crop, or black & white any page individually. The PDF lives in your set like any other item and goes out the same ways: as an email attachment, alongside the merged photo PDF, or in a share link.

Can I paste something I copied?

Yes. With the Files source selected, tap an empty slot and choose Paste Clipboard. Copied text becomes a .txt file, copied images become photos, and a copied PDF or other file becomes an attachment.

How do I reorder the grid?

Long-press any item until it lifts (you'll feel a tap), then drag it where you want it — the grid makes room as you go. The slot order is the order in every email, PDF and share link. With VoiceOver, each slot offers move actions instead of the drag: earlier, later, to first, to last.

How do sets work? (Pro)

The badge in the top-right corner shows your current set. Tap it to switch sets, create a new one, or rename/delete the current one — or just swipe left and right on the grid to move between sets. Each set keeps its own photos, and only the current set's name is ever visible on screen.

How do I edit a photo?

Tap a slot to open it up close: photos get the editing tools — delete, save-to-library, rotate, crop, and black & white — videos get a player, and PDFs show their pages with per-page tools. Crop offers Original, Square, and Free aspect ratios, and tapping crop or black & white a second time undoes the edit. In the grid, press and release on a slot for a quick replace-or-remove; the grid closes the gap so there are never holes.

How do I send?

Tap Share. Your saved recipients, subject, and message are pre-filled — edit them right in the sheet, filter down to one recipient, flip the PDF toggle to merge everything into a single attachment, then choose Email or "AirDrop, message, and more".

How do I set my default recipients?

Open Settings (the gear button) and enter email addresses separated by commas, plus your default subject and message. Save once — every future share starts from there.

Share links

How do iCloud share links work?

Tap Share → Upload to iCloud. PhotoSendr uploads the current set to its iCloud database and copies a private link. Anyone you give it to can open it in a web browser — no app, no account. Links expire on their own after 7 days. One live link at a time is free; Pro lets you keep as many live links as you like, each lasting 7, 30 or 90 days.

How do I see or expire my links?

Settings → Shared Links lists every link you've created with its view count, split into Active and Expired. On an active link you can Copy it, Share it again, Update it with the set's current photos, Rename it, or Expire it — which deletes the shared copies from iCloud right away and moves the entry to Expired. On an expired one you get Renew, which shares that set again, and Delete, which removes the entry from the list.

Can I update a link I already sent?

Yes. Tap Update on an active link in Settings → Shared Links and PhotoSendr republishes that same link with the set's photos as they look now. The address doesn't change, so everyone already holding it sees the new photos, and the view count carries on where it was. The 7 days start over from the update.

What are Expired links for?

They're your record of what you sent. The photos are already gone from iCloud, but the entry keeps the title and the date so you can see what went out and to what. Renew shares that set again as a fresh link, and Delete clears the entry.

Can I rename a share?

Tap Rename on an active link. The name is the page title everyone who opens the link sees, so it changes for them too — handy when you sent something in a hurry and called it the wrong thing.

"Couldn't Create Link"

Creating links needs iCloud: make sure you're signed into iCloud in iOS Settings and have a network connection, then try again.

Why do links expire?

By design: a shared link shouldn't outlive its purpose. Expiry means nothing you shared stays up by accident, and you never have to remember to clean up. Recipients can view the photos full-screen or as a slideshow right in the browser, and keep them — the shared page has a "Download all" button that bundles photos and PDFs into one zip, a download button on every photo, video and PDF (videos are too large to bundle, so they save one at a time), and a copy-link button for pointing someone at one specific item. And you can end a share early any time from Settings → Shared Links, which deletes the copies from iCloud immediately.

How is this different from WeTransfer or Google Photos?

Transfer sites are built for one-off sends — no saved recipient list, no grid you refill each week, and an account upsell at every turn. Shared-album links from Google Photos or iCloud stay up until you remember to turn them off. PhotoSendr keeps your list ready, expires links on its own, shows you view counts, and deletes the shared copies the moment you stop sharing. What's free and what's Pro?

Free: 3 sets of up to 10 items each — photos, scans and files alike — one video up to 30 seconds per set, full editing, email, PDF and share-sheet sending, and one live iCloud share link at a time (7 days). Pro: unlimited sets, sets that grow to 100 items, full-length videos (as many per set as fit), and as many live links as you like — each lasting 7, 30 or 90 days. Pro is $1.99/month, $14.99/year with a 7-day free trial, or $34.99 once for lifetime.

I bought PhotoSendr before v5 — do I pay again?

No. If you purchased PhotoSendr before version 5, the app unlocks Pro automatically, free, forever. If it doesn't, tap Restore Purchases in Settings.

How do I check my free Pro went through?

Open Settings and look at the top of the PhotoSendr Pro section. If it reads "Pro — thanks for being an early owner!" you're all set and there's nothing to buy. If it doesn't, tap Restore Purchases and give it a moment.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → PhotoSendr. Cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the paid period.

Troubleshooting

The Email button says Mail isn't set up

Emailing from PhotoSendr uses Apple's Mail app. If you don't use Apple Mail, add your account in Settings → Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts, or use the "AirDrop, message, and more" option to send with Gmail, Outlook, WhatsApp, and other apps.

The camera doesn't appear

Check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and make sure PhotoSendr is allowed. The photo picker needs no permission — it's Apple's system picker and only hands the app what you pick.

Why does PhotoSendr ask to see my photo library?

Only for one thing: when a new set's welcome screen has the Photo Library source selected, its quick-pick button can preview your three latest shots. That preview is rendered on your device and never leaves it. The permission is optional — declining simply shows a plain icon on the button, and nothing else changes: picking photos always goes through Apple's out-of-process picker, which needs no access at all. You can also turn the welcome screen off entirely in Settings.

Saving to my photo library doesn't work

PhotoSendr needs "Add Photos Only" permission to save edits. Check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → PhotoSendr.

Your data

How do I delete my photos from the app?

Tap the trash button to clear the current set at once, or open a photo and use its delete button. Photos live only on your device — deleting them in the app removes them from the app's storage. Anything you shared with a link is deleted from iCloud when the link expires or you stop sharing it. Deleting the app removes everything the app stored on the device.
